Attachment to 6/30/2004 letter from Bill Nitardy:

Expanding and Clarifying the Separation of Church and State Issue:

In her published commentary on June 16th, Cheri Pierson Yecke, went a long way to expose the myth of the separation between church and state and show how justice by our judiciary is turned on its head. However, Yecke didn't go far enough.

Although Yecke did not mention the vagueness of such words as church or religion as contributing to the injustice, she alluded to it by using the term "denominational religion". The definition of additional terms will clarify the issue still further. One is "doctrinal religion" meaning the basic nondenominational religion based only upon the written doctrine. In the case of Christian Theism this would be the Bible.

Historically, if we examine both the situation in England that was the impetus for the puritans and pilgrims to escape their homeland and the situation in America during the formation of the greatest country on God's green earth, the picture becomes very clear.

In England, the Anglican Church, a denominational religion, became connected with the government and became coercive and oppressive to those who just wanted to practice their doctrinal religion of Christian Theism. Since the Bible does not condone coercion or oppression, the denominational religion obviously added something to their doctrinal religion. I believe a good name for what they added is "humanism". So we have the Anglican denominational religion adopting humanism, making it coercive and oppressive and not being tolerant of Christian Theists who had a common doctrinal religion with the Anglican Church.

The key question is what was responsible for this evil that restricted religious freedom? Was it the doctrinal religion of Christian Theism? Absolutely not! Those practicing the doctrinal religion of Christian Theism were the victims not the perpetrators! The perpetrators were a denominational religion that became the state religion and adopted humanistic, non-Biblical practices. Both the state and humanism have to be blamed as co-conspirators. The doctrinal religion of Christian Theism is completely innocent.

From the onset through the forming of America, the default doctrinal religion was Christian Theism. There were virtually no other competing doctrinal religions. The doctrinal religion of America was Christian Theism and it was the state doctrinal religion. During the forming of our country this was assumed and not even considered worth mentioning in our Constitution. The establishment clause states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, . . "

This statement has to refer specifically to the establishment of a denominational religion not a doctrinal religion for two reasons. One was the Government position and actions regarding the doctrinal religion of Christian Theism during the forming process. The Bible and Hymnals were the only required books in schools. The government sponsored churches for Indians and the name of God and Christian symbols were everywhere in government.

The other reason that supports that our founders directed the establishment clause at denominational religion is that it is completely consistent with the founders experience emblazoned in their minds by the Anglican denominational church in England. They had no reason to fear the Christian Theism doctrinal religion. Their belief in that religion is what brought them to America. However, a denominational religion becoming a state religion is what they feared!

What our activist judiciary has done is to direct decisions at doctrinal religion that should be directed toward denominational religion. This has caused a void in our state doctrinal religion which has facilitated humanism replacing Christian Theism as the state doctrinal religion.

At one time humanism was identified by our Supreme Court as a religion. However, now, humanism, the anti-God religion, escapes behind the banner of secularism. Religion should not be defined by a belief in a God or not, but anything with value type philosophies. Secularism should include only valueless entities.

The result is that we have discarded the doctrinal religion upon which our country was founded and have adopted humanism, the religion that we fought against to escape from, as our national doctrinal religion. Under the guise of completely false unconstitutionality, the courts are eliminating every vestige of Christian Theism in the public square like it was a virus.

This whole scenario is the perfect unjustified coup de grace.
